On February 4, according to information from the Traffic Safety Committee of Nghe An province, during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, 12 traffic accidents occurred in the province, killing 9 people and injuring 8 others. The accidents also damaged 5 cars and 15 motorbikes.
Compared to the same period of the 2024 Lunar New Year, the number of traffic accidents decreased by 5 cases (down 41.6%), the number of deaths decreased by 3 people (down 21%), the number of injured people decreased by 2 people (down 20%).
Notably, there was no traffic congestion in the whole province.
During the Tet holiday, Nghe An Traffic Police organized 957 patrols and controls, mobilizing 3,429 officers and soldiers to participate.
Traffic police detected and recorded 1,173 cases of traffic safety violations, of which 489 cases were fined, and more than 951 million VND was collected for the state budget.
Compared to the same period of 9 days of Tet in 2024, the number of violations decreased by 611 cases, the amount of fines decreased by more than 1.4 billion VND.
The Transport Inspectorate has coordinated with the police, local authorities, bus stations, and road and bridge management companies to ensure smooth traffic during Tet. At the same time, functional units have prevented traffic disorder and safety, especially in key areas.
In addition, localities and relevant units have carried out propaganda, mobilization and resolution of violations of traffic safety corridors.
At the same time, planning for flower and ornamental plant sales points during Tet is also strictly implemented to ensure that there is no encroachment on the roadway, contributing to maintaining order and traffic safety.
