Before and after Tet holiday, traffic volume increased, mainly concentrated on national highways, gateway areas, bus stations, train stations, airports, and ferry terminals.
Road traffic accidents have decreased in all three aspects: number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries. From January 25 to February 2, there were 13 road traffic accidents in the city, killing 4 people and injuring 8 people, compared to the same period last year, a decrease of 10 cases (-43%), a decrease of 7 deaths (-64%); and a decrease of 4 injuries (-33%).
The city's traffic police have recorded 4,804 violations, detained 2,489 vehicles, revoked driving licenses for 664 cases, and deducted driving license points from 375 cases.
Of which, 2,381 cases violated regulations on alcohol concentration; 281 cases exceeded the speed limit; 19 cases drove on the road with drugs in the body; 226 cases drove without a driver's license;...
The Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that in the coming time, the city's Traffic Police force will maintain its force to perform the task of regulating and dividing traffic at the gateways to the city, in front of schools, industrial parks, export processing zones, and waterways to ensure smooth traffic in these areas.
At the same time, arrange patrol forces to control and strictly handle violations of traffic order and safety, thereby creating deterrence, reminders, and raising people's awareness of law compliance when participating in traffic.
