According to information recorded at the scene, at about 1 am on January 17, at Km401+900 of the North-South highway, the Hoang Mai - Dien Chau section (Hanoi to Nghe An direction) a chain collision occurred between 5 cars running in the same direction, including a passenger car and a truck.
Related vehicles bear license plates 89C-326.9x, 29H-282.9x, UN-0369 (Lao Sea), 29E-360.1x and 89H-029.0x.
The accident killed 1 person (identity not yet determined), 5 vehicles were damaged. At the same time, traffic on the Hoang Mai - Dien Chau expressway section was prolongedly congested from North to South.
Immediately after the accident occurred, the expressway management unit (VIDIFI) coordinated with Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 (Room 6, Traffic Police Department) to organize traffic diversion and ensure traffic safety. Vehicles from the North were routed down to Truong Vinh intersection (Hoang Mai) to go to National Highway 1 or move along Ho Chi Minh road.
