On the 3rd day of Binh Ngo Tet (February 19), the government and fishermen of Sa Huynh ward fishing villages organized the Binh Ngo Spring 2026 fishing launching ceremony.
Opening the festival is a vibrant drumbeat, encouraging the spirit of steadfastly sailing boats out to sea to earn a living of fishermen in the fishing village.

Children and grandchildren of fishermen sing folk songs, Ho, Ba Trao, and Sac Bua singing as a way to express gratitude and pray to "Mother Sea" for favorable weather, so that every trip to sea returns safely, with boats full of shrimp and fish.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of Sa Huynh ward fishing, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thanh - Chairman of Sa Huynh Ward People's Committee affirmed that for local people, this festival is of particular importance.
This is a long-standing traditional festival, imbued with national cultural identity, expressing the spiritual life of fishermen in coastal areas, praying for peaceful skies and calm seas, going to sea to catch many shrimp and fish.
The festival also expresses gratitude to the predecessors who passed down the profession; and at the same time encourages and motivates fishermen to continue to reach out to the open sea, maintaining the traditional craft of Sa Huynh ward.

For a long time, the sea has been a space for survival, a livelihood support for thousands of local fishermen. Generations of fishermen stick to the sea day and night, preserving their ancestors' profession, making important contributions to the task of ensuring national defense and security of the country.
Sa Huynh is a coastal ward with more than 50% of the population living by fishing, processing and aquaculture. According to custom, every year, fishermen organize the first departure ceremony of the year on the 3rd day of Lunar New Year.
The Sa Huynh fishing launching ceremony creates atmosphere and encourages fishermen to reach out to sea and stick to the sea associated with protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland's sea and islands; contributing to the implementation of the Vietnam Maritime Economic Sustainable Development Strategy to 2030, vision 2045.

After the drumbeats and the chants and songs echoed, the fleet representing thousands of fishing vessels of Sa Huynh fishermen fenced off the waves to sea, opening a new sea season with the belief in safety, victory and bumper harvests.
