On October 20, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province said that it had issued a document responding to the opinions and recommendations of voters of the province regarding support for fire prevention and fighting equipment (PCCC) for mountainous communes - where there are many difficulties when a fire occurs.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, Khanh Hoa Police are currently arranging 8 teams and 1 team in charge of fire fighting, rescue and relief (CC&CNCH) for 64 communes and wards in the province (except for Truong Sa special zone).
Specifically, the fire protection teams in the area are located in: Nam Nha Trang ward, Cam Ranh ward, Van Ninh commune, Cam Lam commune, Ninh Hoa ward, Thuan Nam commune, Ninh Son commune, Nha Trang ward and affiliated groups are located in Dong Hai ward.
However, according to the Provincial People's Committee, the distance from some mountainous communes to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police units is still far, from 30 to 50km, making it difficult to approach the scene, especially in emergency situations.
Faced with that reality, while waiting for instructions from superior agencies on the implementation of Decision No. 819 of the Government, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province will direct the Provincial Police to continue reviewing and establishing additional research and rescue teams in the area, ensuring the criteria for management area, protective radius, forces, vehicles and facilities to meet working requirements according to new administrative boundaries.
At the same time, the province will develop reasonable plans to mobilize forces and means to minimize the travel time of fire trucks from the area teams to the scene of the fire, ensuring timely and effective handling.
Along with strengthening the professional fire prevention and fighting system, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee assigned relevant agencies, departments and branches to promote propaganda, dissemination of fire prevention and fighting laws and knowledge, building a movement for the entire people to participate in fire prevention and fighting associated with the movement "All people protect national security".
The province also emphasizes the guidance and construction of grassroots fire prevention and fighting forces, civil defense forces and local security and order protection forces, ensuring that these units have enough capacity to handle on-site situations, minimizing damage when fires and explosions occur.
In addition, in order to improve the effectiveness of coordination in fire fighting, rescue and relief work in border areas, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police are coordinating with the Police of Lam Dong and Dak Lak provinces to sign and promulgate the Inter-provincial Coordination Regulations.
This is to organize quick and synchronous rescue when large-scale, complicated fires and accidents occur.
