On the morning of December 10, at the 5th session of the 10th term of the Da Nang City People's Council, term 2021-2026, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Council emphasized that 2025 will take place in a special context, when the city will operate a new development space after merging administrative boundaries.
Mr. Dung said that the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2025 of Da Nang City is estimated to reach 9.18%. Budget revenue is estimated at VND59.5 trillion, exceeding the estimate by 17.4% and increasing by 8% over the same period. Of which, domestic revenue reached more than 52 trillion VND.
As of November, Da Nang has attracted 1,285 FDI projects with a total capital of more than 10.9 billion USD and more than 2,000 domestic projects with a capital of nearly 738 trillion VND.
In addition, many key projects are being accelerated such as Lien Chieu Port area; upgrading Da Nang International Airport; dredging the Co Co and Truong Giang rivers; research on the Da Nang - Hoi An urban railway line...
Da Nang has also actively advised the Government to submit to the National Assembly amendments and supplements to Resolution 136, propose outstanding mechanisms for the Da Nang Free Trade Zone and implement Resolution 222 to soon put the International Financial Center into operation. Complete 100% of the target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses with 12,301 newly built and repaired units. In 2025, Da Nang attracted more than 17.3 million visitors, bringing in revenue of nearly 60 trillion VND, an increase of 21% over the same period.
However, in addition to the achieved results, Chairman of the People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung also frankly acknowledged the shortcomings. He said: "The progress of some key projects is still slow, administrative reform, land and investment difficulties are still limited".
In particular, the heavy damage caused by floods and storm No. 13 is also a big challenge, requiring the city to have more synchronous and drastic solutions in the coming time.
