The information was announced by a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction at a socio-economic press conference on the afternoon of July 10.
According to a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, in the first days of implementing the pick-up and drop-off bus service (from July 1 to 4), the number of cadres and civil servants using this vehicle was still small, due to unstable work positions or still using personal vehicles.
However, since July 7, demand has increased sharply after the organizational apparatus and working positions were gradually stabilized.
On July 7, the transportation system transported about 300 officers from the old Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau to and from the Ho Chi Minh City Administrative Center.
In addition, there has been an additional need for internal travel of some agencies such as the State Bank of Ho Chi Minh City to transfer staff from the old Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau branches to the Ho Chi Minh City headquarters.
The Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department received 160 officers from the old Binh Duong Tax Department and 13 officers from the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
To meet this sudden need, the Public Transport Management Center (under the Department of Construction) has coordinated with Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company to increase vehicles and arrange separate vehicles to serve each agency.
In the coming time, the Department of Construction and related units will continue to closely monitor the demand for pick-up and drop-off vehicles for timely and effective coordination.
The Public Transport Management Center has now established Zalo groups to operate vehicles, including representatives of the Department of Construction, the Center, and Phuong Trang Company to update the daily situation.
Each cadre, civil servant and public employee can register their driving needs through an online form. The center will compile the quantity to coordinate with transportation businesses to arrange appropriate vehicles.
In addition, the Public Transport Management Center is developing criteria for selecting transport units and making estimates for the cost of operating shuttle vehicles, expected to be submitted to the Department of Construction and the Department of Finance in July 2025 as a basis for signing service contracts.
The center also coordinated with the Road Traffic Infrastructure Center (under the Department of Construction) to add pillars and information boards at pick-up and drop-off points along the route to facilitate users.
The pick-up and drop-off bus service will officially be implemented from July 1, 2025, after Ho Chi Minh City merges with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces.
Currently, the Department of Construction has arranged 12 16-seat cars and 4 4-seat cars, all of which are new vehicles in 2025, equipped with Wi-Fi and high-quality seats.
In total, about 32 trips/day are operated on two main routes:
Old Binh Duong - Ho Chi Minh City route: Concentrate at the old Binh Duong Administrative Center, welcome guests at the Provincial General Hospital, Becamex Tower building, Lotte Mart Binh Duong supermarket; then go to Saigon Bus Station. The travel time is about 90 minutes.
old Ba Ria - Vung Tau - Ho Chi Minh City route: Welcoming at Coopmart Vung Tau supermarket, Nguyen Huu Canh Gateway point, old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Administrative Center; moving to Saigon Bus Station. The travel time is about 135 minutes.
