On February 17, Mr. Nguyen Quang Son - Head of the Department of Transport, Vehicle and Driver Management of the Ha Tinh Department of Transport - said that currently, the Department's officers and employees are focusing on reviewing and handling the pending documents for granting and changing driving licenses to hand over functions and tasks to the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police in accordance with regulations.
According to Mr. Son, since February 15, Ha Tinh Provincial Police have sent a document to the Department of Transport of Ha Tinh province regarding the coordination in handing over the tasks of management, testing, and granting driving licenses.
On the morning of February 17, officers of the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Province Police also came to work with the Department of Transport Management, Vehicles and Drivers of Ha Tinh Department of Transport regarding the content of handing over the task of management, testing, and granting driving licenses.
According to Mr. Son, in the past, the driver's license issuance and renewal software of the Vietnam Road Administration has been affected by a number of errors in the issuance and renewal of driver's licenses.
To overcome the above situation, in the past few months, officers and employees of the Department of Transport Management, vehicles and drivers of Ha Tinh Department of Transport have had to work very hard, having to "work day and night" to manually correct errors to promptly process documents, issue exchanges and return returns to the people.
However, up to now, there are still many unresolved documents for the people. Therefore, the unit is focusing on solving the problem.
The unit also plans to temporarily stop receiving new documents to focus on resolving all backlog of documents in order to promptly hand over the task to the police soon.
Regarding the time to hand over the management, testing, and licensing functions to the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Province Police, Mr. Son said that the Department is focusing on reviewing and resolving the backlog for handover, and specifically, the handover date has not yet been finalized.
According to the Document of Ha Tinh Provincial Police sent to the Department of Transport of Ha Tinh Province on coordinating the handover of management, testing, and licensing tasks, Ha Tinh Provincial Police requested the Department of Transport of Ha Tinh to complete the handover before February 19.
For the documents that the Ha Tinh Department of Transport has received about the issuance, exchange and re-issuance of driving licenses, it is recommended that the Department of Transport direct the specialized department to urgently complete the return of results before transferring the task to the Police.
Ha Tinh Provincial Police will notify the time to receive the test management and issue driving licenses to people immediately after receiving official documents from the Central Government.
