On October 18, the People's Court of Region 1 - Gia Lai announced that it had decided to release the Zhi Ying Chang Shun ( Panamanian nationality) cruise ship that had been previously detained at Quy Nhon port.
This decision was made after the court considered the request to release the seaports being detained to ensure the settlement of maritime complaints and documents and accompanying evidence of the Fertilizer and Petrochemical Corporation.
Currently, the parties have completed negotiations and agreed on a solution to resolve the loss of goods.
The People's Court of Region 1 - Gia Lai assigned Quy Nhon Maritime Port Authority to implement the decision to release the Zhi Ying Chang Shun cruise ship in accordance with regulations.
Previously, on October 6, the Petrochemical and Fertilizer Corporation submitted a document to the People's Court of Region 1 - Gia Lai requesting the arrest of the cruise ship Zhi Ying Chang Shun.
This move comes from the company's shipment of 8,800 tons of Ammonium Sulphate fertilizer, transported by Zhi Ying Chang Shun ship from Chinese port to Quy Nhon port (Gia Lai province), which was discovered to be lossy (dirty in cargo tunnel 2) during the unloading process on October 1.
On October 2, while continuing to unload goods, the goods underpass covers were closed slowly, causing goods in tunnels 1, 2 and 3 to be wet for about 25 minutes. The company said this was the cause of the loss of goods, with estimated losses of about $300,000.
Considering the company's request to be well-founded and necessary, the People's Court of Region 1 - Gia Lai issued a decision to arrest the Zhi Ying Chang Shun cruise ship, with a maximum detention period of 30 days.
