On January 14, fishing vessel numbered BTH 84739TS owned by Mr. P.V.M (resident of Phu Thuy ward) sank while anchored under the river in the Phu Hai bridge area. This location is about 1km from the Phu Hai port entrance.
According to initial information, in the early morning of the same day, after finishing the fishing trip, the fishing boat returned and anchored at the above location.

At the time of low tide, the ship was located in the area with an underground sand dune, so it tilted. After that, water flooded in, causing the ship to sink.
The incident did not cause any casualties. However, the vehicle was damaged. The ship owner is urgently deploying a plan to salvage the sunken ship.
Notably, previously in this area, there was also a case of a fishing boat sinking due to hitting an underground sand dune while anchoring.
This reality shows that there are many potential risks if ships do not anchor in the right position, especially at low tides.
