In the afternoon of January 9, fishing vessel numbered BTh 81046TS with a capacity of 22CV when entering La Gi port was sunk. This location belongs to Phuoc Hoi ward, Lam Dong province.
This fishing boat is owned and controlled by Mr. T.T.L.
At the scene, the fishing boat almost completely sank, leaving only the roof floating on the water surface. Fortunately, the crew members on board managed to swim ashore in time, so no casualties occurred.

After the incident, local fishermen proactively notified vehicles entering and leaving the port to pay attention to observation, avoid collisions with sunken ships causing damage to vehicles or maritime safety.
The La Gi port area has been heavily silted up recently, the channel is shallow, causing difficulties for ships to enter and exit, especially at high waves. In recent months, many cases of fishing boats stranded and sinking when passing through this area have continuously occurred.
Most recently, on the evening of January 2, a fishing boat entered La Gi port after a sea trip and was sunk by large waves, causing 1 crew member to go missing and the body was found later.
Leaders of Phuoc Hoi ward said that the dredging and clearing of the La Gi port gate is currently being implemented to overcome the siltation and ensure safety for fishing boats entering and leaving the port.
