On May 4, Hai An Border Guard Station (Command of Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command) said that the unit is supporting the collection of property of a sunken fishing boat.
Previously, at 6:30 am on May 4, Hai An Border Guard Station received information that fishing vessel numbered QT-22097-TS owned by Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai (born in 1977, residing in Xuan Loc village, Cua Viet commune, Quang Tri province), while fishing in the sea area about 0.5 nautical miles from My Thuy port, was sunk by a thunderstorm. On board, there were 2 crew members including Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai and Mr. Nguyen Van Tha (born in 1969), requesting urgent support.
Immediately after receiving the information, Hai An Border Guard Station coordinated with local authorities and relevant forces, notifying self-management groups and ships operating near the area to organize search and support. At the same time, the unit deployed 15 officers and soldiers along with vehicles and equipment to participate in the rescue.
At about 7 am on the same day, the two crew members swam ashore safely, with stable health.
