Quang Tri - The Truong Tam 66 ship ran aground when entering Cua Viet port, with 9 crew members and more than 2,300 tons of clinker on board.

On December 24, Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard) said that the Truong Tam 66 ship (weighing 2,651 tons) on its journey from Ninh Binh to Cua Viet port to complete procedures to unload goods that had been stranded at the port gate area, about 500m from shore and about 300m from Cua Viet embankment.

At the time of the incident, there were 9 crew members on board and 2,357 tons of clinker. The ship's engine room was flooded with water, while there were about 10m3 of oil on board, but the captain proactively locked the oil valve to prevent leakage.

Immediately after receiving information from captain Le Van Dong (born in 1996, residing in Truong Ninh commune, Quang Tri province), Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station coordinated with the Port Authority and functional forces to deploy support measures to ensure safety for people and vehicles. Currently, the health of all crew members is stable, and the work of pumping water out of the engine room is underway.

After surveying the scene, the captain and the authorities agreed on a plan to transfer goods before organizing the clearance of the ship from the stranded location. The treatment will continue to be implemented when weather conditions allow.
