On October 18, information from Fisheries Control Team No. 2 said that the fisheries control force had just promptly provided first aid to a fisherman who had an accident while fishing at sea.
Previously, at around 5:00 a.m. on October 18, while performing the task of patrolling, controlling, protecting fish farms and combating illegal fishing (IUU) in the southern sea area, KN201 of the No. 2 Fisheries Control Team received a signal requesting emergency support from fishing boat BV-99368.TS.
After 30 minutes, the KN201 Ship approached the fishing boat and provided emergency assistance to fisherman D.V.T (born in 1983, An Giang province). Due to a scratch on his face during the net harvest, this fisherman had 3 broken teeth, broken bones and broken lower jaw, had a deep tear in the left cheek area, showed signs of mild shock, high fever, pale face, and lost a lot of blood.
Assessing this as a serious injury case, life-threatening if not treated promptly, the KN201 Ship Medical Team quickly measured blood pressure, checked health and provided initial first aid. Thereby, the victim's health gradually stabilized.
At about 7:30 a.m. the same day, the patient's blood pressure and body temperature were normal, the wound was stopped, disinfected, and ban date was safe. The medical team provided medicine, instructed the people on the boat on how to take care of them, and suggested bringing the fishermen to shore for further treatment.
On this occasion, the fisheries protection force also coordinated to propagate and disseminate laws on combating IUU fishing, instruct fishermen to fish in the right fishing grounds, give leaflets, national flags and encourage people to feel secure to go offshore and stick to the sea. Thereby demonstrating the sense of responsibility, professional capacity, and role as a reliable support for fishermen, together with the people to maintain sovereignty, security and order and safety in the sea areas of the Fatherland.
