On the morning of February 14, the AIDA Stella (Italy) ship with a cargo of more than 71,300 tons docked at Phu Quoc International Passenger Port. This is the first ship to bring international tourists to Phu Quoc this year by sea. On board were 620 crew members and 2,130 tourists from European countries.
According to the schedule, tourists on the ship will have 1 day to visit and shop on Phu Quoc Island. This is also the first international cruise ship to enter Phu Quoc international passenger port.
In addition to the AIDA Stella ship, this February, Phu Quoc will welcome 2 more international cruise ships arriving at the port with more than 5,500 tourists.

According to the leaders of Phu Quoc City, the Party Committee and people of Kien Giang province in general, Phu Quoc in particular, are very happy when the passenger port is officially put into operation. Phu Quoc is an island city, visitors can only get there by sea and air. Phu Quoc has an international airport, now has an international seaport, Phu Quoc is qualified to connect the world by both waterway and air. In the long term, international cruise ships will come here and hold major events, opening up space for the development of maritime tourism.
According to the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City, the investment project to build Phu Quoc International Passenger Port was approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee with a total investment of more than 1,644 billion VND. Of which, capital from investors in the form of BOT accounts for 30%, the remaining 70% is local budget capital.
Phu Quoc International Passenger Port has an investment scale including an 850m long breakwater and a wharf capable of receiving passenger ships with a capacity of up to 225,000 GT. When the port comes into stable operation, 5-star cruise ships carrying 3,000 - 4,000 international visitors can easily dock, contributing to the strong development of Phu Quoc island tourism.
The port is allowed to receive Vietnamese and foreign passenger ships with a capacity of up to 225,000 GT; Vietnamese and foreign general ships with a capacity of up to 30,000 DWT are allowed to anchor, pick up and drop off passengers, unload goods and perform related maritime services.
