Previously, on February 3, 2026, the Director of Tay Ninh Provincial Police issued Decision No. 231/QD-CAT on establishing a Council to destroy license plates and vehicle registration forms in the vehicle registration work of the Traffic Police Department. The Council is chaired by Colonel Pham Thanh Tam - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police.
Accordingly, the Council destroyed 70,958 vehicle registration certificate blanks, including registrations of cars, motorbikes, specialized motorcycles, temporary registrations and trailer registrations. In addition, 3,049 sets of revoked vehicle license plates were also destroyed, including 2,693 car license plates and 356 motorbike license plates of various types.
For vehicle registration certificate blanks, the Council destroys them by burning them all. The license plate is cut in half at the position where the sign is embossed to ensure that it cannot be reused.
The destruction process is carried out in accordance with the procedures and regulations of the Ministry of Public Security and is supervised by the Destruction Council.
According to the Traffic Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police, the destruction of license plates and vehicle registration forms contributes to improving the effectiveness of the collection, registration and management of road motor vehicles. At the same time, this activity also helps strengthen the effectiveness of state management in ensuring traffic order and safety, as well as serving administrative procedure reform in the field of transportation.
