During the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday of 2026 (from February 14 to February 22), the traffic order and safety situation in Tay Ninh province was basically stable, with no serious traffic congestion. Notably, the Traffic Police force focused on inspecting and strictly handling violations of alcohol concentration - one of the main causes of traffic accidents during holidays and Tet.
According to the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Tay Ninh Provincial Police, for alcohol concentration violations, functional forces have issued decisions to fine 480 cases, an increase of 335 cases compared to the previous Tet holiday (145 cases); the total fine amount is 1.885 billion VND, an increase compared to the level of 1.147 billion VND in 2025. At the same time, driving license points were deducted for 312 cases, driving licenses were revoked for 59 cases, an increase of 44 cases compared to the same period; 480 vehicles were temporarily seized, an increase of 335 vehicles compared to the previous Tet holiday.

In addition to alcohol concentration violations, violations such as speeding, violating regulations on weight, driving vehicles when not meeting conditions,... are also strengthened for inspection and handling.
During the Tet holiday, there were 16 road traffic accidents in the province, killing 13 people, injuring 8 people, causing property damage of about 99 million VND; a decrease of 1 accident and a decrease of 2 injuries compared to the same period in 2025. Inland waterway traffic accidents did not occur.

In addition to patrol and control work, the Traffic Police force also coordinates with relevant units to deploy plans to ensure traffic order and safety to serve spring festival activities, especially in the Ba Den Mountain area. Strengthening inspection and handling of alcohol concentration violations during Tet peak period is considered a key solution contributing to curbing traffic accidents and ensuring safe travel needs for people.
