On April 1st, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province coordinated to organize the release of seed fish in the Ia Ly hydropower lake area (Ia Ly commune) to regenerate aquatic resources.
This is an activity to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam's Seafood Industry (April 1, 1959 - April 1, 2026).
Accordingly, more than 70,000 juvenile fish of all kinds (tam, troi, me, that lat, lang nha, catfish) have been released into the Ia Ly hydropower reservoir.
This is a practical work, contributing to regenerating and developing aquatic resources, protecting the environment, maintaining ecological balance and creating sustainable livelihoods for people in the lakeside area.

In the context of complex climate change and increasing exploitation pressure, aquatic resources in many natural water areas tend to decline.
Notably, destructive exploitation such as using electric shock, explosives, and toxic substances still occurs in some places, negatively impacting the recovery and sustainable development of aquatic ecosystems.
Ia Ly hydropower reservoir is one of the largest reservoirs located in the northern Central Highlands region on the territory of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces.
In addition to serving power generation, the hydropower reservoir also has the potential for ecotourism, attracting tourists to visit and picnic. The water surface of the hydropower reservoir can exploit renewable energy.
Among the 6 plants that have been and are being built on the Se San River, Ialy Hydropower is the first project to be started (November 4, 1993) and has the largest capacity (720MW) in the Se San terrace system.
Ialy Hydropower Company undertakes the function of managing and operating 3 power plants on the Se San River with a total capacity of 1080 MW, with an average annual electricity output of 5 billion 310 million kWh.
