According to information from the Thai Nguyen Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, there has been rain, moderate rain, and scattered thunderstorms in the area with common rainfall from 10-30mm, locally heavy rain such as: Pho Yen 71mm, Ha Chau 65mm, Phu Binh 64mm.
According to forecasts, from the afternoon of August 21st to August 23rd, areas in the province will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, common rainfall from 50 - 150mm, with very heavy rain in some places over 250mm.
On the night of August 23 and the day of August 24, Thai Nguyen province will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall from 30 - 50mm, with very heavy rain in some places over 100mm. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain at Level 1.
Heavy rain causes a high risk of landslides, especially in areas with steep terrain. Rain may be accompanied by thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind that break down trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure, causing flooding.
Faced with the above situation, agencies, units and people need to proactively monitor weather and natural disaster developments to have timely prevention and response measures to minimize damage.
