According to the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, Hon Vong Phu has been phong hoa and cracked for a long time. The survey results show that there are ruins, reefs and many large cracks on the surface in this area.

In particular, two lightning strikes combined with impacts from stone mining and blasting around caused vibrations, causing cracks to widen. Therefore, small impacts such as heavy rain, strong winds, earthquakes or blasts can also seriously affect the safety of the relic, even leading to the risk of collapse.
Faced with the above situation, Thanh Hoa province has estimated a budget of 17 billion VND (from the provincial budget) to preserve and reinforce Hon Vong Phu relic.
The reinforcement solution includes: drilling core drills, inserting steel wires with Sika mortar for vertical positioning. When pumping plaster, it will insert cracks into the drill wall, surrounding the D14 steel threads to create strong, stretchable and compression-resistant steel threads, to prevent the cracks from developing, tying up the disjointed parts of the block due to cracking, crumbling into a solid, inseparable block.
Using 3D14 steel anchors, the steel package has a towing capacity of more than 21 tons. These three steel bars are welded together; the steel bundles are placed in pipes, starting from the top of the block and anchored deeply to the base; after placing the steel in the pipe cage and firmly positioning, Sika mortar will be pumped with a suitable pump.
For the peak, drill 4 holes from the top (average drill hole depth is 18m) to connect vertically down to the rock block. At the racing sections of the body block 2, the drill adds 3 drill holes to strengthen the connection with the base block.
To ensure the separation of rock patches around the outer surface of Hon Vong Phu, Sika mortar will be used to fill the cracks. After completing the drilling and construction of the linkage anchor, the scaffolding was dismantled.
According to the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, the preservation and reinforcement of Hon Vong Phu relic aims to preserve and honor historical and cultural values, making the relic a tourist destination, serving sightseeing and tourism, meeting the religious needs of the people and tourists, promoting tourism and socio-economic development of the locality. It is expected that the reinforcement of Hon Vong Phu relic will be completed before April 30, 2025.
