Ho Chi Minh City - Tan Khanh Ward and Thuan An Ward agree to maintain stable apparatus, not merge in this period.

In Thuan An ward, the Executive Committee of the Ward Party Committee held the sixth meeting of the Executive Committee of the Ward Party Committee for the term 2025 - 2030 (expanded).

At the conference, delegates listened to reports on the results of comprehensive review and assessment of the current situation and proposed plans for arranging administrative units of Thuan An ward.

Currently, Thuan An ward has 12 neighborhoods, total natural area of 16.108 km2, population size of 67,696 people. Both rigid standards on population and area exceed the minimum standard at a high level. Regarding the structure and level of socio-economic development, the ward has high financial autonomy capacity.

At the conference, 100% of delegates voted to agree on the option of not proposing to continue arranging the administrative unit of Thuan An ward at the present time. This is to ensure stability and continuity in the organizational structure, improve management efficiency and better meet the requirements of serving the people in the new situation.

In Tan Khanh ward, the expanded Conference of the Ward Party Committee Executive Committee also comprehensively and objectively assessed the organizational and operational situation of the 2-level local government model.

At the conference, leaders of the Ward People's Committee presented a report on requesting policy approval for the plan to arrange commune-level administrative units for Tan Khanh ward. Accordingly, the ward has compared the criteria of Resolution No. 112/2025/UBTVQH15, dated December 24, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on standards for administrative units. Currently, the natural area of the ward is 38.273 km2, reaching 695.87% compared to the standard, the population size of the ward is 157,736 people, reaching 751.12% compared to the standard.

In addition, the ward area has its own characteristics in terms of population, geographical conditions, historical formation, community relations and the requirement to organize the provision of public services. The Ward People's Committee proposed that the Standing Committee of the Party Committee submit to the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee for a policy to unify the plan not to arrange commune-level administrative units for Tan Khanh ward in the current period, and continue to maintain the stability of existing administrative boundaries.

The conference conducted a vote to get opinions according to the correct procedure. Through voting, comrades of the Executive Committee of the Ward Party Committee and Secretaries of branches and directly affiliated Party committees agreed and unanimously agreed with the plan presented at the conference.
