Over the years, Hung Hau Heart Fund in particular and the Communications Committee of Cluster III in general have been receiving the attention, direction and close guidance of the City Council of Dong Thap province in charity activities, serving the community and society.
In 2025, continuing to receive the guidance and support of the Dong Thap Province Arms Council, Hung Hau Heart Fund in collaboration with Military Hospital 175, Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union, Dong Thap Provincial Department of Health and Hong Ngu Regional General Hospital, and the support of students of the Faculty of Medicine - Pharmacy of Van Hien University, organized the first cataract eye surgery program in 2025.
The program takes place on August 1-2, 2025, at Hong Ngu Regional General Hospital, Dong Thap province.

The program aims to provide practical and humane community health care through completely free eye examination, consultation and surgery ( cataract).
Beneficiaries include policy beneficiaries, relatives of cadres, soldiers, workers and people in difficult circumstances in Dong Thap province. In remote areas, there are often many obstacles to accessing specialized healthcare services, especially in limited economic conditions.
The program will conduct eye examinations and screening for more than 150 people. After a thorough screening process, 50 eligible cases will be indicated for cataract surgery in the first phase.

According to the organizers, this is the first activity in a series of community-based programs, carried out on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), 80 years of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day September 2.
With the spirit of "When drinking water, remember its source", the program is a gratitude to those who have merited and contributed to spreading the spirit of humanity in the community.
Representative of Hung Hau Heart Fund, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Van Thien - Honored Director of Hung Hau Heart Fund - shared: Not stopping at a professional activity that brings vision, the program also has the meaning of connecting social forces, from military doctors to local health workers.
As for students of the Faculty of Medicine - Pharmacy, Van Hien University, who do not directly participate in surgery but are responsible for many essential tasks, from the stage of receiving, obtaining information, guiding examination procedures before surgery, giving medicine, ... No blouse, no operating lights, but those silent jobs are indispensable linkages to help the entire operating program flow smoothly, successfully and many souls are re-rehabilitated.

"A bright eye is the beginning of a new life. They can work, do new jobs, or simply see the face of their loved one clearly. When the light returns, they gradually regain their initiative, joy of life and connect with the community. Following the success of this program, we will continue to maintain and expand the scope of the program to help more people in difficulty in Dong Thap province in particular and Vietnamese people in general. We hope to continue to receive the support of benefactors," said Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Van Thien.

The name " Sen Hong Light" is the message that the organizing committee wants to send to the children of Dong Thap who are determined to overcome difficulties and rise up in the midst of difficult living conditions. Just like the lotus growing from mud but still maintaining purity, many patients here have been and are living to rise up, bringing aroma to life.
And this first program will be the beginning of the long journey that Hung Hau Heart Fund is aiming for. That is to bring light, sharing and health care opportunities closer to people in remote areas across the country.
