On the morning of June 10, information from Team 584 (Political Department, Quang Tri Provincial Military Command) said that from June 7 to now, the unit has organized surveys, searches and collected 4 sets of remains of martyrs in the Thach Han Regional General Hospital area (belonging to Quang Tri ward, Quang Tri province).
Previously, from information from the construction unit at Thach Han Regional General Hospital about the discovery of signs of martyrs' remains, Team 584 immediately organized forces to conduct field surveys and verify information thoroughly.

At the scene, the martyrs' remains were found lying at a depth of about 2m underground. Through the exhumation process, the martyrs' bones had decomposed strongly, mainly remaining teeth, segments of shin bones and many small bone fragments buried in the cellar mixed with bricks and stones.
Notably, the search force also discovered many accompanying artifacts including: hammocks, socks, combs, magazines, decomposed infantry shovels, heavy machine gun ammunition, toothbrushes and belt buttons.
Currently, 4 sets of martyrs' remains have been brought to be solemnly buried at Team 584 unit to organize careful incense offerings. In the coming time, functional agencies will take biological samples to serve DNA testing and identify their identities.

Coming to inspect the reality and encourage the task force, Colonel Truong Nhu Y - Deputy Political Commissar of Quang Tri Provincial Military Command acknowledged and praised the spirit of effort to overcome difficulties of officers and staff of Team 584. Leaders of the Provincial Military Command requested the unit to continue to carefully review the area, proactively grasp the source of information and expand the search scope around the hospital area to avoid missing heroic martyrs.
On the same day, the working delegation also visited and presented gifts to the forces performing the task of taking samples, digitizing information and handing over samples of martyrs' remains at Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery to serve DNA testing according to regulations.
