Construction speeding up on the highway site
In Quang Binh province, on New Year's Day, contractors organized 75 construction teams for the North-South Expressway project; mobilized about 635 pieces of equipment and machinery of all kinds. The total number of officers, engineers and workers participating in the construction was 1,455 people.

Every day, the unit works 3 shifts from morning to night, at noon the workers take a break to eat and rest, then stick to the road to do their work.
At the Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway project (Quang Tri province), the construction atmosphere was bustling on New Year's Day. Taking advantage of favorable weather, units launched a campaign to start the new year, encouraging workers to stay at the construction site to construct unfinished sections of the road.
Mr. Mai Quy Khanh - Deputy Head of Project Management Department 4, Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that on New Year's Day, on the highway section through Quang Tri province, there were nearly 300 workers and many machines under construction.
According to Mr. Khanh, to ensure the set progress, contractors have worked overtime, including Tet holidays, and whenever the weather is favorable, they stay at the construction site to focus on construction.
In Ha Tinh province, on New Year's Day 2025, contractors are still working normally on the construction site of the North-South Eastern Expressway in the 2021-2025 phase.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tien - Deputy Commander of the Le Duan Bridge construction site of the North-South Expressway project, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section of Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise - said that to speed up the progress, engineers and workers focused on construction and did not take a break for the New Year.
According to Mr. Tien, the Company set a schedule of completion and opening of Le Duan Bridge by the end of January 2025, so the workers at the construction site focused on working overtime, increasing shifts, and working through holidays.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung - Director of the North - South Expressway Project Management Board, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section - informed that to ensure progress and take advantage of favorable weather, on New Year's Day 2025, at the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway construction site, contractors will still carry out construction as usual.
A leader of the North-South Expressway Project Management Board, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section, also informed that on New Year's Day, contractors still worked normally to ensure progress.
Speeding up progress on major bridges
In Thanh Hoa, dozens of technical staff and workers are still working hard and urgently on the Xuan Quang bridge project across the Ma River connecting National Highway 1 with National Highway 45 (from Hoang Kim commune, Hoang Hoa district to Thieu Long commune, Thieu Hoa district). This bridge is over 1km long.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khuong - Head of the project management team and supervisor of Thanh Hoa Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that taking advantage of favorable weather, the construction unit is focusing on speeding up progress, mobilizing human and material resources to construct Xuan Quang bridge.
"Currently, over 90% of the work on this bridge has been completed. We are constantly urging the contractor to focus on speeding up the construction progress to complete the technical traffic opening before the upcoming Lunar New Year," said Mr. Khuong.
In Ninh Binh province, the Cha La Bridge Project (part of the Nam Song Van Irrigation Project (Hoa Lu city) was still enthusiastically working on the New Year's Day.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (from Lao Cai province) is working on the Cha La bridge construction site and shared, "If I work overtime on holidays, the company will pay me more than usual, so I stay on to work without taking a day off."
While repairing Nghen Bridge on National Highway 1 in Can Loc District (Ha Tinh Province), worker Vo Ta Huy (43 years old, residing in Vinh City, Nghe An Province) shared that the nature of repairing bridges and roads is to ensure safety and complete the work as quickly as possible.
Therefore, to ensure the earliest traffic flow, on New Year's Day, the men still happily worked as usual without any worries or concerns.
