On January 5, Mr. Nguyen Van Hong - Chairman of Ben Hai Commune People's Committee, Quang Tri province said that functional forces had found the body of Mr. P.V.H.(born 1960, residing in Ha Loi Trung village, Ben Hai commune) after many days of missing at sea.
Accordingly, at about 8:30 am on the same day, local people discovered a body drifting ashore in Bac Ban village, Cua Tung commune.Upon receiving the news, authorities and functional forces quickly arrived at the scene to verify.The victim's family then came to identify and confirm that the body was Mr. P.V.H.
Currently, functional forces are completing the necessary procedures to hand over the body to the family for funeral arrangements according to local customs.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 6:30 am on January 2, Mr. H. went missing after his fishing boat sank in the near-shore sea area of Ben Hai commune. Immediately after the incident occurred, functional forces and local people urgently organized searches, and at the same time pulled the distressed boat ashore. However, the victim was unfortunately swept away by waves and went missing until he was discovered.
