Time when heavy rain in the South gradually decreases at the end of July

HẠ MÂY |

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, thunderstorms will continue for the next 1-2 days in the area, then gradually decrease.

In the afternoon of July 29, monitoring on satellite cloud images, weather radar images and lightning positioning data showed that convective clouds are developing and causing showers with thunderstorms and lightning in wards and communes including Phu Loi, Binh Duong, Tay Nam, Long Nguyen, Tan Phuoc, Thai My, An Nhon Tay, Nhuan Duc wards and Long Son commune.

Forecast for the next 3 hours, the convective cloud region will continue to develop and cause showers with thunderstorms and lightning on Tan Hung, Phu Dinh, Dien Hong, Phu Loi, Binh Duong, Tay Nam, Long Nguyen, Tan Phuoc, Thai My, An Nhon Tay, Nhuan Duc, Long Son wards and communes, then it is likely to expand to neighboring areas.

Common rainfall is from 5-20 mm, in some places over 25 mm. During thunderstorms, it is necessary to watch out for tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind at level 5-7 (8-17 m/s); heavy rain may cause localized flooding in low-lying areas.

The weather pattern causing rain and thunderstorms in the Southwest monsoon operates with moderate to strong intensity. At the same time, wind convergence is maintained in the area, creating favorable conditions for convective clouds to develop.

Weather pattern forecast for the next 24-48 hours, the low pressure trough with its axis passing through the Northern region tends to gradually move southward. Southwest monsoon in the Southern region continues to operate with moderate to strong intensity. Above, the subtropical high pressure gradually encroaches westward; the convergence zone on the western edge of the subtropical high pressure moves into the Southern region and continues to move westward.

Weather pattern forecast from 3-10 days, the low pressure trough through the North gradually weakens; from around August 4th, it is likely to be restored. Southwest monsoon maintains average intensity. Above, the subtropical high pressure continues to expand westward and southward, then gradually weakens from around August 3rd.

Due to the influence of the above patterns, the Southern region continues to experience widespread thunderstorms; in some places moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain. Around July 31, rain tends to decrease, mainly appearing scattered in the late afternoon and evening, sunny during the day.

Rainstorms can be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, affecting agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses and infrastructure works. Heavy rain can cause localized flooding, affecting traffic, living and production activities.
