On May 6, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh inspected the site and urged the progress of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway project.
Also participating were leaders of Cao Bang province, representatives of departments, sectors, Deo Ca Group, project enterprises and related units.
The delegation inspected the construction fronts along phase 1, from Km5+500 (Na Sam commune, Lang Son) to IC04 intersection (Dong Khe commune, Cao Bang).
Records at the construction site show that contractors are still maintaining positive progress.
Currently, the entire project deploys 132 bridge, tunnel and road construction teams with nearly 900 machines, more than 2,000 personnel. Some sections are being expanded from 17m to 22m of roadbed on a complete scale.
The units have mobilized 4 large-capacity asphalt concrete paving lines to speed up the road surface progress. The total value of construction and installation output to date has reached over 8,700 billion VND, equivalent to about 74% of the contract value.
According to the plan, on May 19, 2026, the project will technically open the 62km section from Dong Dang border gate to Dong Khe commune. The remaining sections will be opened to traffic on the roadbed, striving to complete more than 93km of phase 1 by December 2026 with a roadbed width of 22m.
At the inspection, the units proposed to supplement financial resources to ensure the completion progress of the entire route according to the design scale.
Directly directing at the construction site, Minister Tran Hong Minh acknowledged the urgent construction spirit of the contractors, and at the same time requested localities and related units to drastically and synchronously deploy the roadbed expansion.
Project enterprises need to closely coordinate with localities to remove capital difficulties; contractors strengthen human resources and equipment, maintain high pace, and take advantage of the time before the rainy season.
The Minister also requested to develop detailed construction plans by week, month, and quarter to serve as a basis for monitoring and reviewing progress.
Along with that, special attention must be paid to the quality of works, labor safety and environment, especially in complex items such as large bridges, tunnels, karst geological areas.
Emphasizing the requirement to comply with the law, be public and transparent throughout the implementation process, the Minister clearly stated that the project implementation motto is "fast - correct - accurate - effective - safe".
The Minister requested Cao Bang province to continue to mobilize the entire political system to participate, coordinate with businesses and contractors to remove obstacles, accelerate progress, and soon put the project into operation.
On this occasion, the working delegation presented gifts, encouraged engineers and workers who are working at the construction site, and encouraged the construction force to strive to overcome difficulties and increase shifts to complete the expressway, which is of great significance for socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the border area.
