On the afternoon of January 25, a representative of the Yen Bai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board informed that from 5:00 p.m. on the same day (January 25), IC 13 intersection has been put into operation to serve the travel needs of the people.
Through research, the IC13 intersection project of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway (section Km 122 + 240), is located in Au Lau commune, Yen Bai city.
The project was approved and adjusted by the Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee on August 19, 2021 and October 7, 2022 with a total investment of VND 362 billion.
The project started construction in March 2023, constructed by a joint venture of Hanoi D&T Construction Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company - 307 Quang Phu Joint Stock Company - Elcom Telecommunication Technology Joint Stock Company.
After being put into operation, the interchange is expected to make travel from the provinces of Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc to some localities of Yen Bai such as Tran Yen, Yen Bai city and western districts and towns such as Van Chan, Nghia Lo, Tram Tau, Mu Cang Chai more convenient.
According to the design, the project consists of 2 main items. The IC13 intersection includes the main branch road system (branch A) and 4 branches (B, C, D, E) connecting branch A with Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway at Km 122+240.
Branch A is 0.5 km long, roadbed width 23.5 m; branches B, C, D, E have a total length of 1.5 km, roadbed width 8 m.
The system, lighting, road signs, and traffic safety guardrails have been fully installed. This is the third intersection from Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway into Yen Bai province.
