On March 11, the Traffic Police Department informed that functional forces had made a record of handling a case of a tractor-trailer driver going into the opposite lane on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, posing a serious traffic accident risk.
Previously, at about 7:24 am on March 11, at Km134+200 Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway (Hanoi to Lao Cai direction), driver N.M. H (born 1980, residing in Dong Hoa ward, Dak Lak province) was driving a tractor-trailer with license plate 50E-152. xx pulling semi-trailer 50RM-089. xx.
According to initial verification, because there was a slow moving truck in front, the driver steered into the opposite lane to overtake the car in the same direction. This act is particularly dangerous because the expressway has high traffic speed.
After receiving feedback from people, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 1 (Room 6, Traffic Police Department) quickly verified and invited the driver to work. At the police station, the driver admitted to the violation.
Based on Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, functional forces have made a record of administrative violation against the driver for the act of driving in the wrong lane (going into the opposite lane).
With this violation, the driver is expected to be fined 5 million VND and have his driver's license deducted 2 points.

The Traffic Police force recommends that vehicle drivers when traveling on highways absolutely comply with regulations on lanes, speed and safe distance, avoiding reckless overtaking, going against traffic flow or changing lanes against regulations that may lead to particularly serious consequences.
