On September 19, Quang Tri Provincial Police informed that they had held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Provincial Police Director on personnel work in Con Co Special Zone.
The ceremony was held on the afternoon of September 18. The leaders of the Organization and Personnel Department announced the decision to transfer Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Dong, Deputy Head of the Department of Technical and off-line operations, to hold the position of Chief of the Con Co Special Forces Police.
Speaking at the assignment, Colonel Le Phuong Nam - Deputy Director of Quang Tri Provincial Police requested the new Chief of Con Co Special Forces Police to continue to promote achievements, build a united collective, and direct the unit to excellently complete political tasks.
Receiving the assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Dong promised to strive to practice, promote traditions, unite with the collective of officers and soldiers to fulfill their assigned responsibilities well.
It is known that Con Co Island - the only island in Quang Tri province officially became Con Co Special Zone according to the Government's decision after Quang Tri - Quang Binh merged. Con Co has an area of about 2.3 km2, located about 30km northwest of the mainland (coast of Quang Tri province) with nearly 500 people living there.
