According to information from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 9:00 a.m. on September 30, 2025, the upstream water level of Tuyen Quang Lake was 120.12m; the water flow out was 5055 m3/s; the water flow into the lake was 6980 m3/s.
Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant will finally open the bottom spillway gate at 10:30 a.m. on September 30, 2025. However, due to the complicated water flow to the lake, the opening time of the 8th bottom spillway may be earlier or later than expected.
Previously, after opening 4 bottom spillways No. 1,2,3,4, due to complicated weather developments, on September 30, 2025, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company issued document No. 1592 on continuing to open bottom spillways No. 5,6,7 to continue opening. As of 7:30 this morning, the Company has opened 7 bottom spillways.
From September 29, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment issued a telegram on opening the bottom spillway of Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir. The Minister of Agriculture and Environment ordered the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company: Open 1 bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir at 8:00 p.m. on September 29, 2025. Closely monitor the developments of floods, construction safety, flow to the reservoir, water levels upstream and downstream of the reservoir and promptly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control) and relevant agencies according to regulations.
Along with that, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also sent a document to the People's Committees of the provinces and cities: Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Hanoi on ensuring safety downstream when operating Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir.
