Cao Bang - 2 dead, 3 missing due to floods affected by the circulation of storm No. 10.

According to a quick report from the authorities of Cao Bang province, in the past 24 hours (from 5:00 a.m. on September 29 to 5:00 a.m. on September 30), the circulation of storm No. 10 caused moderate to heavy rain, some places had very heavy rain in Cao Bang province, causing many areas to be flooded, landslides, and heavy damage to people and property.

Unfortunately, 2 people have died. A 6-day-old child, residing in Na Noi hamlet, Minh Tam commune, was seriously injured when his house collapsed due to a landslide and did not survive despite being taken to the emergency room.

The second victim, Mr. Truong Van Chau (55 years old, Coc Cang hamlet, Tra Linh commune) was swept away by floodwaters while trying to cross the spillway.

In addition, 2 workers working at the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway construction site were injured and were given first aid at the commune health station. Currently, there are still 3 workers missing.

Heavy rain also caused the water level of the Bang River to rise, causing flooding in many riverside areas in Thuc Phan, Nung Chi Cao, Tan Giang wards and Hoa An, Thong Nong, Can Yen, Nguyen Binh, Xuan Truong communes. The whole province has recorded 18 landslides and 30 flooding points.

Initial statistical damage: 117 houses had their roofs blown off, 208 houses were flooded, 11 houses had landslides; more than 72.9 hectares of rice and 26.2 hectares of crops were broken and flooded. Traffic on many routes, especially the section from National Highway 34 to Phan Thanh commune, was cut off due to landslides.

The People's Committees of communes and wards are urgently mobilizing forces to support people in evacuating, protecting assets, and at the same time placing warning signs and traffic diversion in dangerous areas to ensure safety.

Consecutive storms 8, 9, 10 and floods caused by the storm have killed 19 people and many people are missing. Many houses and production and business establishments had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage.
