The Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway project has a length of nearly 29km, started in March 2025. The project has a total investment of more than 5,750 billion VND, designed with a scale of 4 lanes, speed of 80km/h.
Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway passes through Thanh Thinh, Thanh Mai communes and Bac Kan ward, Thai Nguyen province with a total of 1,624 households and organizations affected.

PV recorded that after more than 1 year of construction, a highway strip across the hills and mountains in Northern Thai Nguyen has gradually been revealed.
At the large construction site, hundreds of workers and machinery and equipment are mobilized to implement the project. A large amount of excavated soil is transported from high positions to low-lying areas.
In addition to the roadbed item, bridges and culverts, and resettlement areas serving the project are also being synchronously constructed.

Mr. Le Xuan Hai - Head of Construction Team No. 1 (Phuong Thanh Transport Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company) said that the excavation and foundation filling item depends heavily on the weather, when it rains, it is almost impossible to deploy. Therefore, accelerating construction in this phase is a mandatory solution to maintain progress.
To date, the volume of soil excavation has reached more than 1.79 million m3, K95 foundation filling over 342 thousand m3; many bridges have completed the abutment and piers. The unit is focusing maximum manpower and equipment, organizing 3 shifts, 4 teams of construction.
On the entire route, dozens of construction fronts are stretched to deploy the project. Currently, contractors have mobilized over 600 personnel, more than 400 machines and equipment, deploying 42 construction fronts. The realized value reaches about 21.8% of the contract.

According to Mr. Mac Van Nghiep - Project Operations Director (Project Management Board 2, representative of the investor), in the current period, the requirement is that contractors must maximize favorable weather, maintain construction, increase shifts, increase crews, and focus on roadbed items.
This is a decisive part of the project's overall progress. Delays in progress in this phase will directly affect the goal of completing the entire route in 2026.
Currently, contractors are focusing efforts to compensate for progress, striving to complete the main items before the rainy season, ensuring the progress of the entire route according to the plan.
When completed, the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway will contribute to synchronizing transport infrastructure, shortening travel time to northern Thai Nguyen localities. At the same time, expanding development space, attracting investment, and promoting local socio-economic development.
