On December 13, information from the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province said that the Canh Tang Reservoir Project - one of the key projects of the Northwest gateway locality is being urgently implemented.
Accordingly, the Canh Tang Reservoir Project has a total investment of over 3,919 billion VND, with state budget capital managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Of which, the compensation, support and resettlement component of over 1,727 billion VND is invested by Lac Son District People's Committee; the construction component of over 2,192 billion VND is invested by Irrigation Investment and Construction Management Board 1.
The project has a capacity of about 91 million m3; the main dam is 53.23 m high, 850.5 m long; the auxiliary dam is 36.5 m high, 160.5 m long. Construction of a water supply pipeline system is about 29.012 km long.
Up to now, for the construction component of the reservoir headworks, the construction of the earth dam from cross section CN1 to cross section CN21 has been completed, built to the design elevation of +92.5. Along with that, the project has completed the culvert plug to divert water from the reservoir.
For the upstream reinforced concrete pouring category, the total volume completed was 13,050 m3/14,200 m3. At the same time, the dam face concrete construction was completed with a total volume completed of 400 m3/1,600 m3. The spillway tail, management house and spillway mechanics have been basically completed.
Regarding the water pipeline system, the construction of bomb and explosive clearance has been completed, the route markers have been placed, and the construction is expected to begin as soon as a contractor is found. Construction is expected to start before December 31, 2024.
It is expected that by January 31, 2025, disbursement will ensure 100% of the 2024 planned capital.
Regarding the compensation and resettlement support component, according to the plan, the project will build 8 resettlement sites, level 623 plots, each plot is 400 m2 wide to provide for 8 hamlets of Van Nghia, Binh Hem and Yen Phu communes, Lac Son district.
The project also builds two flood avoidance routes, with a total length of 16,967 km.
Up to now, the construction of the resettlement site in Da Moi hamlet, phase I in Dong Xe area has been completed and put into use with 64 resettled households.
Regarding the construction of the remaining 7 resettlement sites and phase II of the Da Moi hamlet resettlement site, the project investor said that the leveling of the resettlement sites has been completed and handed over to the people to build houses and connect electricity and water. The electricity, roads, schools, and stations have also been completed.
In addition, construction of 2 flood avoidance routes, total route length has been implemented 16,967 km.
Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long said that the Canh Tang Reservoir Project is very important to the economic and social development of the province.
The Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee also requested Lac Son district to focus on directing relevant units, reviewing, inspecting, urging, and speeding up the construction progress of the remaining project items.
In particular, strive to complete all key projects by April 30, 2025. Lac Son district focuses on site clearance and strives to disburse funds according to plan.
