On January 31, a source from Lao Dong Newspaper reported that the People's Committee of Tien Giang province issued a document approving the results of the environmental impact assessment report for three sand mining investment projects on the Tien River.
Specifically, the An Nhon sand mining project invested by Hiep Phu Company Limited has an exploited water surface area of 6,008 hectares. The mineral reserves allowed to be included in the mining design have a geological reserve of level 122 (up to cote -20m) of 148,899 m3. The mining capacity is 148,899 m3/year (individual blocks). The mining technology includes mining equipment (scraper) and transportation equipment (of customers) to the consumption project. The mining equipment uses a scraper with a bucket capacity of 5-7 m3.
Ngu Hiep - 2 sand mining project invested by Ngo Minh Truong Mechanical Construction and Transport Company Limited has an exploited water surface area of 46.1313 ha. The geological reserve of level 122 (to cote -20m) is 1,231,570 m3. The exploitation capacity is 600,000 m3/year (individual blocks).
The project to exploit sand on the Tien River at Hoa Hung - 6 mine, invested by Duc Loi Company Limited, has a total water surface area of 7.8564 hectares. The mineral reserves allowed to be included in the exploitation design have a geological reserve of level 122 (up to cote -20m) of 725,258 m3. The exploitation capacity is 220,000 m3/year (in monolithic blocks).
According to Notice No. 283 of the Government Office, Tien Giang province was assigned by the Government to supply about 15.95 million m3 for projects, including: Can Tho - Ca Mau project about 2 million m3, component project 2 of Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway project about 4.55 million m3, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project about 6.6 million m3, component project 2 of Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway project about 0.95 million m3, Ho Chi Minh Road project Rach Soi - Ben Nhat and Go Quao - Vinh Thuan section about 1.85 million m3.
