The program awarded scholarships and Tet gifts to 4 children in particularly difficult circumstances who have relatives donating organs for humanitarian purposes and were received through Xanh Pon General Hospital. Each child received scholarships worth 12 million VND/year, issued periodically quarterly.
In addition to financial support, the children are also accompanied by the Fund in self-care and development activities, to help them consolidate their internal strength, step by step confidently stand firm on their own feet in the journey of building the future.
Also on this occasion, the Heart Starting Fund promptly received 2 more children through Huu Nghi Hospital, who are the children of a female nurse working at the hospital, who just passed away suddenly due to a stroke and brain hemorrhage, and are the only support for her two young children.
The female nurse passed away but left a deep humanistic value when 5 other patients were revived thanks to her donated tissues and organs. Her two children will be supported and accompanied by the Fund in the coming time under the framework of the "Self-reliance for myself" Scholarship.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dong Van He, Director of the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center, Deputy Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, informed that in 2025, 66 brain deaths were recorded donating tissues and organs, and in the early days of 2026, there were 4 brain deaths donated. This is a silent story of sacrifices of people who contributed themselves to the community.
The program "Self-reliance for myself" sends a message that society will never forget those who give life to others. Hopefully, more and more hands will join hands to care for and support organ donor families, especially for young children.
To date, scholarships have received and supported 16 children with relatives donating organs in many provinces and cities across the country. The program aims to help children participating in scholarships maintain their studies, complete the general education program, and be ready to support vocational training funds for those who have appropriate aspirations, in order to help them have a solid baggage when entering life.
