"A few hours ago, the water was only at the edge of the river, but this afternoon it has risen, many traders here are moving their belongings, some are transporting them to areas without flooding to sell to everyone, some businesses like me are transporting goods to avoid damage" - Ms. Thom said.

Taking advantage of the opportunity to move his belongings in the shop, Mr. Tran Van Kien (a trader in Hoi An ancient town) lost sleep last night when he heard that the river water would rise.
According to Mr. Kien, since this morning, many roads along the Hoai River have risen to the knees of adults, traders, and business households here who are also busy clearing their goods to avoid flooding.

Many people living in Hoi An ancient town shared that from the end of October to the beginning of November 2025, Hoi An ancient town has been continuously submerged in water due to floods, causing great damage to souvenir, silk, and clothing businesses.
It was not until November 8 that Bach Dang Street was completely dry again.

According to the Central Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, Da Nang City has had moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places; the total rainfall from 7:00 p.m. on November 15 to 7:00 p.m. on November 16 reached 40-80 mm, in mountainous areas and the south of the city 90-140 mm.
From tonight to the afternoon of November 18, the wards in the midlands and mountainous areas of southern Da Nang are forecast to have heavy to very heavy rain, generally 150-300 mm, some places are higher than 400 mm; the northern mountainous areas are 100-200 mm, some places are over 300 mm.

In the next 12 hours, floods on the Vu Gia River will continue to rise and remain below alert level III to above alert level III; Thu Bon River will continue to rise and remain below alert level III.
In the next 12-24 hours, floods on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river will fluctuate at a high level and at alert level II-III.
