Since October 26, when floodwaters flooded, many residential areas in Hoi An Ancient Town (Hoi An Ward) were still surrounded by water. People have to rely on the authorities and relatives to provide each package of noodles, bottle of water and necessities to endure.

According to the City Military Command, in the report on the response to rain and floods in Da Nang city, as of 2:00 p.m. on October 29, the whole city had 29 communes and wards heavily flooded, including Hoi An ward. In this area alone, 5,826 households were flooded, accounting for over 80% of the ward area, with flooding levels ranging from 0.5m to 2m.
According to the update at 1:30 p.m. on October 29, the Central Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that in the next 6-18 hours, floods on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river will continue to rise and appear on the Thu Bon river in Hoi An, which may exceed the historical flood mark in 1964. The flood peak in Hoi An is forecast to reach 3.5m above alert level 3: 1.5m - 0.1m higher than the historical flood (Hmaxls 3.40m in 1964).
In the face of complicated floods, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Da Nang City have issued many urgent directives. In particular, the Da Nang City Party Committee issued Official Letter No. 178-CV/TU dated October 27, 2025, requesting a quick daily report on the response situation; assigning members of the City Party Executive Committee to monitor and take charge of the area, regularly closely following the grassroots, coordinating with the Party Committees of wards and communes to direct the response and overcoming the consequences of floods.

The mobilized forces and vehicles for rescue were also strongly deployed. The total number of active forces includes 6,185 people (including: Comrade 380 soldiers, Border Guard 54, Police 1,080, Militia and Self-Defense Forces 2,561, other forces 2,813 people). The vehicle system includes 19 vehicles (19 cars; 12 trucks; 1 excavator; 1 luxury car; 1 coach; 10 canoes; 2 boats).
In addition, the Command Committee for Defense of Area 3 - Tra My has mobilized by road to approach villages 3, 4, 5 of Tra Leng commune, which are being isolated; supported food, provisions, and drinking water for 665 households/2,727 people, ensuring safety for the people. Currently, the road has been cleared for motorbikes to enter the commune center and continue to be processed so that cars can mobilize to support.
