Heavy rain lasted from the night of November 16 to 17, causing many areas in the whole province to be deeply submerged in floodwater. Many households were isolated and had to climb to the roofs of their houses waiting for authorities to rescue them.
Traffic in many areas was cut off, especially along the Cai River and low-lying areas in Nha Trang, Cam Ranh, Cam Lam.

On November 17, records from many localities in Khanh Hoa showed prolonged heavy rain due to the influence of low pressure circulation causing severe flooding in a series of areas, especially low-lying areas along the river and low sections along main traffic routes.
In Nha Trang ward and neighboring wards, many roads such as 23/10, Nguyen Khuyen, 2/4 were partially flooded. Water from the upstream of Cai River flows strongly, rising close to the road surface, endangering people traveling.

Some communes in Nam Cam Ranh, Tay Khanh Vinh and Cam Lam wards were also deeply flooded; many houses had their roofs blown off, their kitchens collapsed due to gusts of wind and strong currents.
Authorities in localities have set up warning posts and are on duty 24/7, at vulnerable locations. The work of evacuating people from dangerous areas was urgently deployed.

Heavy rain continues, flood risk increases
According to the Khanh Hoa Hydrometeorological Station, the whole province will continue to have moderate to very heavy rain on November 17 and the following hours. The focus of the rain is in the south of the province, then gradually move to the north. The common rainfall was 100 - 150mm, many places recorded over 200mm.
The specialized agency warns of the risk of continued urban flooding, flash floods and landslides in areas with steep terrain and along rivers and streams.
