Identity of a martyr's remains found who sacrificed in Quang Tri

Quang Tri - From artifacts buried with remains, functional agencies identified the identity of a martyr among the 5 remains collected in Huong Lap commune.

According to information from Economic - National Defense Team 337, Military Region 4, the results of appraisal and information recovery from buried artifacts and 5 sets of martyrs' remains collected by the HCLS Collection Team of Economic - National Defense Team 337 in the Khe Cay Loi hill area, Cap Cuoi village, Huong Lap commune, Quang Tri province have identified the identity of a martyr.

5 martyrs' remains were collected in the period from July 23 - 25, 2026. The Criminal Technical Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police has appraised and recovered information from paper samples preserved in 5 glass jars buried with martyrs' remains.

Comparing the results of the examination with the information and records stored at the Center for Legal Advice and Assistance to Vietnamese Martyrs' Families, functional agencies determined that the paper sample in the glass jar buried with the remains of martyr No. 4 contained information about martyr Nguyen Van Vuong.

Martyr Nguyen Van Vuong was born in 1946, rank of Private First Class, enlisted in May 1970, belonging to Company 3, Battalion 25, Military Station 27, Regiment 559.

Martyr Nguyen Van Vuong died on December 26, 1970. The original hometown is identified as Trieu Duong, Quoc Tri, Tien Lu, Hai Hung.

From the above information, Economic - National Defense Team 337 hopes that functional agencies and veterans who fought and worked at Company 3, Battalion 25, Military Station 27, Team 559 on the Quang Tri battlefield will provide more information, contributing to identifying the remains of the remaining 4 martyrs.

This is the basis for the remains of martyrs to be fully identified, and to return to their homeland and families soon.
