Accordingly, on the evening of September 9, Cao Bang General Hospital received the first surviving victim after the landslide that pushed a passenger bus into the river occurred in the early morning of September 9 on National Highway 34 in Ca Thanh commune, Nguyen Binh district.
At the hospital, the victim's family said that Mr. NVN, 29 years old, residing in Tam Kim commune (Nguyen Binh district), rode a motorbike from the city to Bao Lac district, and when he reached Ca Thanh commune, due to heavy rain, he could not move and got on a passenger bus on the side of the road to rest.
At that moment, the location where the car was parked collapsed, burying the entire car and passengers. The patient himself was found by rescuers and taken out of the landslide area and taken to Nguyen Binh Medical Center for first aid and then transferred to the provincial hospital.
When admitted to the hospital, Mr. N was still conscious, able to talk, had a wound on the top of his head, and several broken bones on his body.
After being admitted to the hospital, the patient was examined by hospital doctors and given paraclinical indications and a consensus diagnosis of multiple injuries: traumatic brain injury, cervical spine injury, closed chest injury...
Currently, the patient continues to be closely monitored and given timely treatment with the best method.
As of 8 p.m. on September 9, Cao Bang province’s search and rescue forces had found 17 victims killed by storms, floods, and landslides in Nguyen Binh district. Rescue forces also took 8 injured people to medical facilities for treatment and are actively searching for 16 missing people.
According to the latest report of the Cao Bang Provincial Civil Defense, Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command, the total number of dead, injured and missing people in the province is 50.
Most of the victims died due to landslides and floods, with Nguyen Binh and Bao Lac districts being the two localities that suffered the most damage.
