At noon on March 30, information from Tuyen Quang Provincial Police said that functional forces had just found the bodies of 2 missing people on the Chiem Hoa hydropower reservoir.
The victim was identified as Mr. Nguyen Van T. (born 1992) and his wife, Ms. Hoang Thi H. (born 1993).
Currently, the bodies of the victims have been handed over to their families for funeral arrangements.
Previously, as Lao Dong newspaper reported, the boat capsizing occurred on the night of March 29. At that time, Mr. T., his wife, Ms. H., and son Nguyen Tuan D. (born 2012) went to cast nets to fish.
When arriving at the riverbank area, Mr. T. saw an iron boat with a roof without engines. After that, Mr. T. used the iron boat to carry his wife and children to the middle of the river to cast nets.
A moment later, a strong wind blew, overturning the boat, and all three people fell into the river. Baby D. swam ashore, while Mr. T. and Ms. H. were submerged by the water.
After receiving the news, functional forces spent the night deploying rescue and relief efforts.
