On March 30, information from Tuyen Quang Provincial Police said that functional forces are searching for 2 missing victims on the Chiem Hoa hydropower reservoir.
Before that, at about 10 p.m. on March 29, Mr. Nguyen Van T. (born 1992) with his wife Hoang Thi H. (born 1993) and son Nguyen Tuan D. (born 2012) went fishing.
When arriving at the riverbank area, Mr. T. saw an iron boat with a roof without engines. After that, Mr. T. used the iron boat to carry his wife and children to the middle of the river to cast nets.
A moment later, a strong wind blew, overturning the boat, and all three people fell into the river. Baby D. swam ashore, while Mr. T. and Ms. H. were submerged by the water.
After receiving the news, functional forces spent the night deploying rescue and relief efforts.
The location of the boatwreck has been found, and searches for missing victims are being deployed.
