On the afternoon of December 1, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of Dong Hoa Town Police (Phu Yen) said that the search and rescue team had found the body of the last victim in the case of a couple who went missing while fishing on the Da Nong River.
"The authorities found the body of the husband - Mr. Vo Van S (born in 1986, residing in Song Hinh district) at 1:00 p.m. the same day, near the location where the body of the wife - Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh L (born in 1986, residing in Tuy Hoa city) was found early this morning. The authorities are currently carrying out the procedures to hand over Mr. S's body to his family for funeral arrangements," he said.
As reported, at around 12 noon on November 29, Mr. S and Ms. L rowed a boat to the Da Nong River to fish.
By the morning of November 30, the family could not contact Mr. S and his wife, so they reported to the authorities to search for them. By the early morning of December 1, the authorities found Mrs. S's body and handed it over to the family for funeral arrangements.
It is known that Mr. S and his wife's family is very poor, with 4 children of school age. The couple is renting a room in Hoa Hiep Nam ward (Dong Hoa town), fishing for a living.
