As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of July 17, a boy suddenly slipped and fell into the river while playing with a friend at the foot of Ben Tuong Bridge, Phan Dinh Phung Ward (Thai Nguyen).
Although people discovered and tried to rescue him, the child was swept away and gone missing due to the strong current.
On July 18, after many hours of searching, the authorities found the child's body in the downstream area of Ba Da dam, Gia Sang ward (old Dong Lien commune).
The victim was identified as Do Gia B. (born in 2017, residing in the old Trung Vuong ward).
At about 10:45 a.m. the same day, the victim's body was brought ashore and handed over to the investigation agency for procedures according to regulations.
The authorities recommend that after heavy rain, water in streams, culverts and low-lying areas often rises and flows rapidly, posing many potential dangers. People absolutely do not let children get close to ensure safety.
