In the afternoon of April 10, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the leaders of Ngoc Son ward (Thanh Hoa province) said that at about 12:45 pm on the same day, functional forces found the body of a male student who drowned in the shrimp pond area.
The location where the victim was discovered is about 10m from the scene of the accident. After completing the procedures according to regulations, the male student's body has been handed over to the family for burial according to local customs" - a representative of Ngoc Son Ward People's Committee informed.
Previously, on the afternoon of April 9, 2026, Nguyen Van H. (born in 2008, residing in Thanh Binh, former Thanh Son commune, now Ngoc Son ward) and a group of friends went to play football. After that, the whole group invited each other to the shrimp pond area to swim.
During the bathing process, not seeing H. come ashore, the group of friends shouted for help and called for help from the people. Because the shrimp pond area was far from residential areas, when adults arrived, they no longer saw the victim's whereabouts.
Immediately after receiving the news, rescue forces, along with people and families, organized searches throughout the night of April 9 and by noon on April 10, the victim's body was found.
