Body of drowning victim found on Mai Thanh Lake

Lam Dong – After nearly 2 days of searching, rescuers found the body of a man who drowned in Mai Thanh Lake (Loc Tien Ward, Bao Loc City, Lam Dong).

At noon on January 22, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Region 3, Lam Dong Provincial Police recovered the body of Mr. Truong Van Tuan (37 years old, residing in Tan Lam commune, Di Linh district).

Mr. Tuan's body was found at a depth of nearly 10 meters, right at the location of his accident at Mai Thanh Lake (Loc Tien Ward).

After recovering the victim's body, authorities completed the procedures and handed it over to the family for funeral arrangements.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Truong Van Tuan is a hired worker for a household raising fish in cages at Mai Thanh irrigation lake.

On the afternoon of January 20, while harvesting fish for the owner, the fish cage's rope unfortunately broke. At that time, Mr. Tuan swam out into the water to protect the fish cage but did not surface. People rowed out to look for him but could not find him so they reported it to the authorities.

Upon receiving the report, Bao Loc City Police and Loc Tien Ward Police, along with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Region 3, organized a search.

It is known that Mr. Tuan is the breadwinner, supporting his elderly mother and 5th grade daughter, in very difficult circumstances.

Mai Thanh irrigation lake is located in Loc Tien ward and Loc Chau commune (Bao Loc city) with an area of ​​hundreds of hectares, with an average water depth of 6 to 12 meters.

This irrigation lake provides irrigation water for agricultural production for many localities in Bao Loc city and Loc Tan commune (Bao Lam district).

Currently, there are some households on the lake contracting to raise fish in cages.
