Slipping into the canal, a 9-year-old boy drowned

Ha Tinh - While reaching for a sandal for his younger sibling, N.T.Q.A slipped and fell into the Ngan Truoi canal and drowned.

On the morning of December 30, leaders of Duc Tho district visited and encouraged the family of N.T.Q.A (9 years old, residing in An Dung commune) who drowned.

Previously, at around 3:30 p.m. on December 29, N.T.Q.A (9 years old, residing in Ha Tien village, An Dung commune) and his younger brother went to the front gate of their house to play on the bank of Ngan Truoi canal.

While playing, his younger brother dropped his sandals into the canal, so Q.A went down to get them for him but unfortunately slipped and fell into the canal and was swept away.

At around 9:00 p.m. the same day, local authorities and local people found Q.A's body about 20 meters downstream from the slip point.
