On the morning of October 4, the leader of the People's Committee of Lung Phinh commune, Lao Cai province informed that at about 7:00 a.m. the same day, the search and rescue forces had found the body of a victim swept away by flood while swimming across the Chay River.
The location of the discovery was in the Chay River area in Phin Chu 3 village, Sin Cheeng commune.
After bringing the body to shore, the police force conducted an autopsy, investigation according to regulations and coordinated with the authorities to hand over the body to the family for burial according to local customs.
Previously, at around 9:00 a.m. on September 30, Lung Phinh Commune Police received a report from local residents about a person swimming across Chay River in Lu Di San Village, Si Ma Cai Commune being swept away by floodwaters.
Through verification of the incident, the person swimming across the river was Mr. Sung Seo Chu (born in 1993, residing in Lenh Sui Thang village, Lung Phinh commune).
After receiving the news, Lung Phinh commune mobilized forces and coordinated with localities to search along the Chay River.
