At noon on February 1st, functional forces found the body of Mr. V.V.H (born 1974, residing in La Gi ward), captain and owner of fishing vessel BTh 85234TS, who went missing in the fishing boat sinking that occurred at La Gi port in the morning of the same day.
The victim's body was discovered floating in the Hon Ba area, La Gi ward. After discovering it, fishermen operating near the area proceeded to bring the body ashore and hand it over to the family for funeral arrangements.
As Lao Dong newspaper reported, at about 5 am on February 1st, fishing vessel BTh 85234TS, with a capacity of 33Cv, with 5 workers on board, was moving into La Gi port, Phuoc Hoi ward, when it suddenly sank.
4 crew members promptly jumped off the ship and were rescued by vehicles operating near the area and brought ashore safely. Mr. V.V.H was swept away by the waves and went missing.
The La Gi port area is seriously silted up. Over the past time, many fishing boats have sunk in the port area and many cases have had crew members die.
